Our Osteopathy Services
Wejuv Osteopathy offers a full range of osteopathic services across three London clinics — Tufnell Park (NW5), Highbury (N5), and Shepherd’s Bush (W6). All treatments are provided by Grant Barnett, a GOsC-registered osteopath with a Master’s degree in Osteopathy and a specialist postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy (DPO).
Every appointment at Wejuv is tailored to you — your age, your history, your lifestyle, and what you’re hoping to achieve. Here’s an overview of the main areas Grant works in, though if you’re not sure which applies to you, just get in touch and he’ll be happy to help.
Osteopathy
Hands-on care for muscles, joints and the whole body
Osteopathy considers the relationship between the body’s structure — its muscles, joints, bones and connective tissues — and how you feel and move day to day. Grant uses a range of hands-on techniques, including soft tissue work, gentle joint mobilisation and stretching, tailored to your individual needs.
Patients commonly seek osteopathic care for back and neck pain, joint discomfort, headaches, postural strain, and recovery from sports injuries — though Grant sees patients for a wide variety of concerns.
Cranial osteopathy
A very gentle, non-invasive approach for all ages
Cranial osteopathy uses extremely light touch to work with subtle movements in the body — an approach that many patients find deeply relaxing. It is suitable for all ages and is particularly popular with new parents seeking support for unsettled babies, and with adults experiencing stress-related tension or persistent headaches.
Patients commonly seek cranial osteopathy for: stress and tension, headaches, sleep difficulties, and support for babies and young children.
Visceral osteopathy
Considering the whole body, including its internal structures
Visceral osteopathy is an approach that considers the relationship between the body’s internal structures — such as the digestive and reproductive organs — and overall musculoskeletal health. Using very gentle manual techniques, Grant works with the surrounding tissues and their connections to the rest of the body.
Patients who seek visceral osteopathy often present with digestive discomfort, abdominal tension, pelvic pain, or musculoskeletal symptoms that haven’t fully resolved with other approaches.
Osteopathy for babies and children
Specialist paediatric care from just a few weeks old
Grant holds a postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy (DPO) from the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC) — one of the UK’s most respected paediatric osteopathy institutions — and volunteers there regularly in clinic.
Treatment for babies and young children uses extremely gentle techniques, quite different from adult osteopathy. Parents are always present throughout, and sessions are always led by your child’s comfort and pace.
Parents commonly bring babies and children to Grant for: feeding difficulties, a preference for turning the head one way, unsettled behaviour, wind and digestive discomfort, and physical concerns following birth.
Osteopathy during pregnancy and after birth
Support through one of life’s biggest physical transitions
Pregnancy and early motherhood bring significant changes to the body — shifts in posture, weight distribution, and the demands of feeding and carrying a baby can all contribute to discomfort and tension. Grant has specific experience supporting women through pregnancy and the postnatal period.
Patients commonly seek support for pelvic and lower back discomfort during pregnancy, postural strain in the postnatal period, and tension related to feeding positions and carrying. Treatment is always adapted carefully to your stage of pregnancy or recovery.
What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a hands-on approach to health that considers how the body’s structure — its muscles, joints, bones and connective tissues — influences how it functions and how you feel day to day.
Osteopaths use a range of gentle manual techniques, including soft tissue work, joint mobilisation and stretching, to assess and work with the body. Rather than focusing only on the area that’s painful or uncomfortable, osteopaths look at the body as a whole — exploring how posture, movement patterns, past injuries and lifestyle may all be contributing to how you’re feeling.
Osteopathy is suitable for people of all ages, from newborns to older adults, and is often used alongside conventional medical care. It is regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) — registration is a legal requirement to practise as an osteopath in the UK, giving you confidence that your practitioner meets rigorous standards of training and professional conduct.
Not sure if osteopathy is right for you? Grant is always happy to have an informal chat before you book — just send a WhatsApp message or give us a call.
What patients commonly come to us for
People visit Wejuv for many different reasons. Below are some of the most common — though if something isn’t listed, do get in touch, as Grant is happy to discuss whether osteopathy may be able to help.
Musculoskeletal pain Back and neck pain, joint discomfort (shoulders, hips, knees), muscle tension and strain, and nerve-related symptoms such as sciatica are among the most common reasons people seek osteopathic care.
Postural and lifestyle-related concerns Many patients come to us with discomfort linked to desk work, prolonged sitting or standing, repetitive movements, or postural habits that have built up over time.
Sports and physical activity Sprains, strains, and overuse injuries are commonly seen in our clinics. Grant works with patients to support recovery and may offer guidance on movement and loading to help reduce the risk of recurrence.
Headaches and jaw pain Tension headaches and jaw joint (TMJ) discomfort are frequently associated with tension in the neck and upper back — an area osteopathy commonly addresses.
Pregnancy and the postnatal period Osteopathy is widely sought during pregnancy for the musculoskeletal changes and discomfort it can bring — and in the postnatal period as the body recovers. Grant has specific experience supporting expectant and new mothers.
Babies and young children Parents often bring babies and young children to Grant for concerns such as feeding difficulties, unsettled behaviour, head preferences, and discomfort following birth.
General tension and stress Many patients find that physical tension linked to stress responds well to osteopathic treatment. Grant takes time to understand the full picture — including lifestyle, sleep, and daily demands — as part of every appointment.
